Discover the thrill of vertical adventure with our Rock Adventures program. Whether you’re easing into abseiling on natural cliffs, crawling through ancient karst caves, or tackling full-day challenges that combine climbing, abseiling and wild caving, these activities offer unforgettable experiences for all skill levels. Guided by experienced instructors, each session is tailored for safety, fun, and exploration—perfect for adventurous families, school groups, and outdoor enthusiasts alike.
Held on Karoonda Park’s own natural cliffs, the established site allows participants to gain confidence in the vertical world. The 11-meter pitch drops down through the trees to a lush fern-filled creek environment. Participants can either rock climb or walk back up to the top. All ages are catered for, with a minimum group number of 4.
Described as a ‘hardcore yoga session’, this trip accesses the caves of the Buchan ‘karsts’ region, where some 600 known caves are located. Being a wild caving trip it may be dirty, dusty, dark, muddy and, at times, uncomfortable, but it is definitely fun! Experience the huge chambers and fine formations within and learn about the geological history of the area. The adventure caters for all abilities, allowing the more adventurous to slip down tight squeezes while other group members can choose the more spacious passages, making it perfect for the whole family. Helmets, lights and overalls are supplied.
Situated on the outskirts of Buchan, the Rocky Knob day trip will have you clawing, hanging and crawling. Cliff heights vary from 10 to 40 meters, providing good views over the forested and pastoral valleys beyond. Several rock climbing and abseiling pitches are rigged, offering a variety of challenging ascents and descents. Lunch is provided at the crag cliff face before heading off to explore the tunnels of Wilsons Cave. Minimum group number is 4.

Our tours, walks and hikes are designed for those with average fitness, allowing ample time to take in the stunning scenery and various points of interest along the way. The area is inhabited by brumbies (wild horses), and you might be fortunate enough to spot them. This region is truly special in many ways.
